A unique domain selection and purchase seems tough sometimes because of domain unavailability, your business needs an online presence and a suitable domain selection is the first step of it.
your website domain name is the address using which users can access your business website. Your domain name has to be unique and unfortunately, no two domains can be the same. You have to register a domain name before using it.
Sometimes you have stuck because that domain you are looking to register already has been registered by someone else, now you have the only option that you can try to buy the domain name from the existing domain owner.
It depends and if you are lucky that the domain owner doesn’t have domain name privacy as an add-on, their information will be public only and you will be able to find their information.
6 Steps to find domain name owner
To find out who owns a domain that you need for your business, you can try a WHOIS lookup service. There are several services that allow you to find out who owns a web domain, without charging a service fee. We will be using ICANN here to find out the domain owner.
Step #1 To begin, open your web browser and go to ICANN.
Step #2 Now, in the search box, type and enter the domain name that you want to search for.
Step #3 Click on ‘Lookup’ and the search will begin.
Step #4 You will now get details about the domain registration date, registry expiration, owner’s name, location, and mailing address.
Step #5 You can use these details to contact the domain owner.
Sometimes domain owner doesn’t respond to you, in that case, you can hire domain brokers also such as GoDaddy, who can help you and negotiate on behalf of you.
